Last Visit

Upon discovering his father is dying, Nasser immediately sets

off, with his headphone-sporting adolescent son Waleed, to his

small, rural town. a place of strictly upheld customs. The

drastic change of environment puts their relationships to the

test.
This tense conflict between father and son plays out across

three generations, painting a wider picture of the deepening

divide reshaping Saudi society. As the tale explores the

shifting values of patriarchy and tradition, Nasser finds

himself between two worlds. Through the alienation and self-

awareness of the younger generation, “Last Visit” considers

what is inherited and what has been acquired beyond the

confines of the home.

The debut feature from film critic and producer Abdulmohsen

Aldhabaan is a subtle exploration of transforming bonds,

discovering what endures to bind three different generations.
